Nieck van den Blink - Assistant Project Coördinator, Verwater The Netherlands

Nieck van den Blink is currently part of the Verwater project coordination team on the ETT-3 project , rising in the Europoort.

After a traineeship in Singapore that was part of his BBE (Bachelor of Built Environment) study, he returned end of 2008 to continue his study and graduate. However, during this last phase of his study he had some spare time during the week. Nieck decided to fill up this time efficiently by gaining working experience.

Since his global interests, he looked for a company that is both national as international orientated. Verwater Group gave him the opportunity as he says: “I’m happy that Verwater gave me the chance to join the organization even though it was only for once a week and during holidays in the first period. I joined the project team that was at that time constructing 5 tanks and a pump pit at Caldic, Europoort.” Nieck graduated in 2010 and is now a full time employee of Verwater.

He continues: “Working for Verwater for 2 years now, I get more and more involved in the organization. My first impression was that I joined a company that has a huge ambition and an organization that is in the middle of a major growth process. It’s challenging to be part of this process where various disciplines within one company come together to achieve the same goal together: Being the best tank terminal EPC contractor, both national as international.”

On the question on where Nieck finds himself in the future he says  “On the short term look ahead , we need to keep track on what we are doing now: completion of the ETT III project. And ofcourse other projects.” Nieck is also following a part-time technical business administration course that takes 1,5 year:  ”In this way I keep developing myself and are willing to use all gained knowledge in Verwater and its future.”
